Thanksgiving Day 10k

It’s that time again. This year we are running another turkey trot.

Except it’s a little bit farther than the four miler we did last year in Portland. I don’t know what compelled me to sign up for a 10k, but despite gaps in training, I’m running it. Go me!

This year we’re running here in Arizona. We aren’t traveling for the holidays and we’re celebrating Thanksgiving with a small turkey and some of out favorite side dishes, which includes post-race cinnamon rolls with lots of icing.

The Mesa Turkey Trot 10k and Fun Run has been going strong since 1954. With support from the Sertoma Club of Mesa the run supports dozens of local organizations around the Arizona community.

Hopefully you’ll be starting off your Thanksgiving Day with a turkey trot or some other workout. If not, it’s fine. You deserve a day off!

Results and race updates to follow.
